8. Be that as it may, the petitioner was appointed on a contract basis for one year on 20-11-1994. The period of contract has expired on 20-11-1995. The period of contract has already expired. Therefore, this Court in exercise of the power conferred under Article 226 of the Constitution of India cannot set aside the impugned order. The Supreme Court in Nandganj Sihori Sugar Co. Ltd. v.
