BENGALURU, 2017(4) SCCR 3252 he contends that the
prosecution has failed to prove the opinion of the fingerprint
expert so as to connect the said opinion to the accused. The
Investigating Officer has failed to follow the procedure in

collecting the specimen fingerprint of the accused. No
panchanama was prepared either at the time of lifting the
alleged chance fingerprint or collecting the specimen fingerprints
of the accused. In view of these defects, the evidence relating
to the fingerprint opinion is rendered unreliable.
