24. Since the BCA like the BCCI is registered under the
Societies Registration Act, 1860 and it discharges several public
functions, in view of the ratio laid down by the Supreme Court in Zee
Telefilms Ltd. & Anr vs Union of India & Ors (Supra) and Board of
Control for Cricket in India vs. Cricket Association of Bihar & Ors.
(Supra), even though the BCA is not „State‟ within the meaning of
Article 12 of the Constitution of India, it would be amenable to the
writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
