In United India Insurance Company Ltd. v. Satinder Kaur @ Satwinder Kaur & Ors., (2021) 11 SCC 780, it has been explained, that as far as the loss of consortium is concerned, it would be given for 'filial consortium', 'spousal consortium', and 'parental consortium', with each claimant receiving Rs.40,000/-. Accordingly, while no fault can be found in the compensation awarded towards loss of consortium in favour of the claimants, compensation towards funeral expenses and loss of estate shall be reduced to Rs.15,000/- on each of these heads.
