In Dr. J.J. Merchant's case (supra) it was never held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court that after the permission is given to a party to cross-examine the other party by way of interrogatories, he can still be permitted to further cross- examine him. The relevant portion of that judgment, upon which the Revision Petition No.14 of 2015 5 reliance was placed by the learned counsel for the complainant, is reproduced below:-
