Bai Ujam vs Bai Rukhmani on 20 August, 1913
(Sircar's Hindu Law, 8th Edition, p. 534). West and Buhler quote with approval the decisions in the two cases reported by Strange. (West and Buhler's Hindu Law, 4th Edition, p. 241). Before the decision in Bai Mangal v. Bai Rukhmini (1898) I.L.R. 23 Bom. 291, Mayne was of the same opinion but the learned author of the next edition accepted that decision as being correct and altered his opinion accordingly, This view has been maintained in the latest edition.
