The Oommen V. Oommen Committee has made a detailed study and identified which are the populated areas and which are the ecologically sensitive areas. But the Ministry of Forests and Environment of the Central Government has not taken any steps to declare the final draft of Kasturirangan Report. In Kerala, especially in the hill areas, thousands of families and lakhs of farmers are facing problems. They are unable to construct houses; they are unable to cultivate lands. This is a very sensitive issue in Kerala. Therefore, I would request the Government of India to intervene in the matter and take care of the interests of the people of Kerala. … (Interruptions)
