Secretary, State Of Karnataka And ... vs Umadevi And Others on 10 April, 2006
9. So far as the relief regarding regularization of services rendered by the applicant against regular vacancy is concerned, suffice it to say that such a relief cannot be granted to the applicant in view of the law laid down by the Constitution Bench of the Apex Court in the case of Secretary, State of Karnataka & others v. Umadevi & others, (2006) 4 SCC 1, more particularly, when the applicant was engaged for intermittent period on daily wage basis and not appointed against the regular vacancy. Even otherwise also, learned counsel for applicant submits that the applicant is confining the relief to his reengagement in casual employment in any of the Regional Centres of the Meteorological Department in terms of his representation dated 31.5.2011, as he has worked with the Department for the last five years in the said capacity.
