Suleman vs Haji Abdul Latif on 13 March, 1930
4. Regarding the question of interest, counsel for the appellants relied on the decision of the Privy Council reported in Suleman v. Abdul Latif, 59 Mad LJ 121 : (AIR 1930 PC 185). The observations in that decision seemingly support the appellant's contention. The general remarks in the judgment stated that no interest should be awarded in a suit for dissolution till the person suing for dis-solution gets the amount due determined by the decree passed in the case. Their Lordships, therefore, granted interest only from the date of the decree.
