3. Seeking quashment of the First Information Report, this petition
has been filed by the petitioners mainly on the ground that they were
celebrating the temple festival by following the COVID-19 Protocol
issued by the Government. Apart from that, it is also contended that the
Police has no power of jurisdiction to register the case for the offence
punishable under Sections 188, 269 IPC, based on the judgment of this
Court in the case of Jeevanandham and others vs. State of Tamil Nadu
in 2018 (2) LW (Cr) 606.
