Mangilal Pindwal has held "this means that as a result of a statute, the statute as repealed cases to exist with effect from the date of such repeal but the repeal does not affect the previous operation of the law which has been repealed during the period it was operative prior to the date of such repeal," Section 159A of Customs Act 1962, which is para materia with the provision of Clause 6 of the general clauses act 1897 reads as follows:
