13. It is not the petitioner's case that rate of interest has not been prescribed as envisaged in Sub-section (2A) of Section 7. Even if rate has not been prescribed, the Estate Officer cannot travel beyond the maximum rate of interest as stipulated in Section 2(b) of the Interest Act.
