2.3 He went on to argue that the stand of the respondents that the extension of cut off date applied only to students holding the Masters Degree was unfair and discriminatory and in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution. Learned counsel further stated that the applicant had all the qualifications for the post for which the examination was held and had a legitimate expectation to be appointed on them. Therefore, the action of the respondents was in violation of the order of Honble Supreme Court in the case of Excise Supdt., Malkapatnam, Krishan District, Andhra Pradesh Vs. K.B.N. Visweshwara Rao & Ors., 1996(6) SCALE 676.
