Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, but without prejudice to the merits of the case, the writ petition is finally disposed off with the direction that the petitioners may approach the concerned Senior Superintendent of Police or Superintendent of Police with a certified copy of this order, who is obliged to ensure full compliance of the direction issued by the Supreme Court in the cases of Lata Singh and Bhagwan Das (Supra). He may obtain and keep on record a response/report from the SHO, concerned as to steps taken to comply with the aforesaid directions of the Supreme Court, in the facts of the present case.
