18.As per the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in
Deepak Kumar's case cited supra and in exercise of powers
conferred under Section 18 of the Mines and Minerals
(Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and in supersition of
the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 1988, the
Government of India, framed the Mineral Conservation and
Development Rules 2017 with necessary provisions for
conservation and development of minerals. Rule 2 of the said
Rules stipulates that the State Governments shall adopt and
extend the application of these rules with modification.
