The issue raised in the present petition filed in public interest is
regarding development of tourist infrastructural facilities for the Surinsar-Mansar
Lakes. There is another PIL bearing PIL No. 35/2014, titled as Rattan Singh and
others vs. State of J&K and others, pending in this Court pertaining to protection
of Gharana wetland. Protection of Surinsar-Mansar Lakes is also required as these
are places of religious importance besides, tourists attraction. PIL No. 35/2014, is
listed on 17.02.2021.
