not be suspected and should be believed and if the evidence is reliable, no
corroboration is necessary.

25. Dealing with the credibility of the sole prosecutrix as a sterling
witness, the Honourable Supreme Court in a recent decision rendered in
Santosh Prasad @ Santosh Kumar vs. State of Bihar reported in (2020) 1 MLJ
(Crl) 617 SC held that unless the evidence of the prosecutrix inspires the
confidence of the Court and appears to be absolutely trustworthy, unblemished
and is of sterling quality, it is unsafe to base a conviction solely on the basis of
the testimony of the prosecutrix.
