14. It is a settled legal position that the powers of the court in appeal against
an order of acquittal are limited. The Apex Court in the case of Ghurey
Lal vs. State of U.P., reported at 2008 4 CCC SC 49 has laid down the
following principles before granting leave to appeal against an order of
acquittal:
