6.The Supreme Court in Jagdish Singh Vs. Punjab Engineering College and others reported in 2009 (7) SCC 301, dealt with the case of absenteeism and had accepted the worker's explanation that he had to sort out the family problem and that let him off with the punishment of stoppage of two increments.
