Sharma vs. The Estate Officer, UT Chandigarh, 2000 PLR 94, an
argument was raised that the petitioners may be given an opportunity to
clear all the outstanding dues with interest and penalty and the resumption
order be set aside in the interest of justice. The Appellate Court rejected the
said contention, while making the following observations :
