All India Sc & St Employees Assn.& Anr vs A. Arthur Jeen & Ors on 12 April, 2001
In support of its submissions learned counsel for the Intervenors has relied on the

L. Chandra Kumar vs Union Of India And Others on 18 March, 1997
In this regard
we may also usefully refer to the Constitution Bench decision of the Supreme
Court in the case of L.Chandra Kumar vs Union of India (1997) 3 Supreme
Court Cases 261 in which the Supreme Court has extensively dealt with the
powers and jurisdiction of the Administrative Tribunal to deal with service
matters. Looking to the object and scheme of the Administrative Tribunal Act
and the jurisdiction conferred on the Administrative Tribunals under the Act, we
have no hesitation to reject the contention as raised on behalf of the Petitioner
that the Tribunal had no jurisdiction to direct re-examination.
