In Consumer Education and Research Centre v. Union of India the Supreme Court held that the right to health of a worker is an integral facet of a meaningful right to life. Lack of health denudes the worker of livelihood. The compelling need to earn livelihood should not be at the cost of being exposed to health hazards in an unhygienic working environment.
