of Ezhavas/Thiyyas to take advantage of the benefits of
Scheduled Castes as alleged
belong to Thandan Community but was a member of
Ezhava/Thiyya Community and, therefore, was not a person belonging ... members of Thandan Community
stating that Thandan Community of Malabar is synonymed
Ezhava/Thiyya Community. The purport of the aforesaid considerations
was to clarify that
rank list
with Rank No.18 in the supplementary list meant for Ezhava
Community (OBC). The rank list admittedly expired on
28.03.2004 i.e. after
name, that is, Varghese who married Mariam who
originally belonged to Hindu Ezhava community and later on
converted to Christianity. In the wedlock three sons
specified with respect to each of
the reserved categories are as follows:-
“Ezhava 46
S.C. 45
S.T. 32
Muslim
position at No.86 under the reserved quota for
Ezhava. His contention was upheld by the High Court
by judgment dated 17.01.2001. The operative portion ... merit quota and to advise the
petitioner including him in the appropriate
Ezhava turn against the next advisable
vacancy for the post of Excise Inspector
