since, as per the UGC norms, the candidates who have passed NET/SLET like the
seventh respondent are alone eligible. Arguing further, Mr.Veera Kathiravan ... dates of interview on 29.2.2016 and 1.3.2016, a pass in NET/SLET/SET
was the requisite qualification for the post of Assistant Professor, apart
from
exempted from NET for UG level teaching only".
3.2 Similarly, the relevant provision of the 2009 Regulation reads as:
"NET/SLET shall remain ... exemption from NET requirement, to reject the resolution for
exemption and specifying that NET/SLET was compulsory for teaching positions,
as a part
SLET is entitled to compete along with a Ph.D.
degree holder or a M.Phil degree holder with SLET or net. In other
words ... that matter a Ph.D. with NET
along with M.Phil with NET or SLET can be awarded some weightage
marks for possessing such qualifications
fact exempted even those candidates from clearing the NET/SLET/SET as had
registered for an 'M.Phil programme' prior to July ... clarifying therein that
there was no provision of exemption from the NET/SLET/SET to M.Phil
degree-holders, for appointment to posts of Assistant
