that unreasonable
compensation has been awarded by the Tribunal
towards non-pecuniary damages. The learned counsel
pointed out that total amount ... been awarded by the tribunal by way of non-
pecuniary damages whereas according to the law
settled by the Hon'ble Apex court
that the Tribunal has awarded a very meager amount
towards non-pecuniary damages. On the aforesaid counts, the
enhancement in the amount of compensation ... compensation awarded by the Tribunal
under the head of non-pecuniary damages may also be liable to
be enhanced in view of the recent pronouncement
awarded the amount of
Rs.2,75,000/- towards non-pecuniary damages and in
view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Apex Court ... liable to be awarded under the head of
non-pecuniary damages. The learned counsel,
therefore, prayed for appropriate modification in
the impugned judgment and award
awarding an exorbitant amount of Rs.2,25,000/-
towards non-pecuniary damages. The learned Counsel further
submitted that, in absence of any evidence brought ... said
amount, the non-pecuniary damages are liable to be added,
which are quantified to Rs.70,000/-. Adding the said amount,
the total amount
granted a further sum of Rs.25,000/- towards non-pecuniary
damages. The appellants are, thus, found entitled for the total
compensation

appropriate to enhance the amount of non-pecuniary
damages from Rs.18,000/- to Rs. 50,000/-. The

damages. Considering the objections so raised, I
deem it appropriate to pass following order
