unfair, trade practice and such monopolistic
or restrictive, or unfair trade practice is likely to affect
prejudicially the public interest ... such undertaking or person from carrying on any monopolistic
or restrictive, or unfair, trade practice until the
conclusion of such inquiry or until
meaning of Section 2(e) of the Monopolies and
Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969 (the ' ... expression "trade practice" as under :
"any practice relating to the carrying on of any trade,
and includes
Restriction of application of orders in certain cases.- No order
made under this Act with respect to any monopolistic or restrictive
trade practice ... restrictive trade practice' means a trade practice which has, or
may have, the effect of preventing, distorting or restricting
competition

trade practice" means a trade practice ... trade

1. There must be a trade practice (within the meaning of section
2(u) of the Monopolies and Restrictive
specifically covered under the provisions of the
Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969 (hereinafter referred
