draft could not reach the destination. He tried to stop the payment against the

demand drafts, one for Rs. 32, 100/-, second for Rs. 78.600/- and
another for Rs. 90, 300/- After the presentation of these demand drafts ... verify the drafts.
The accountant incharge found certain irregularities and he suspected the
genuineness of the drafts. The Manager stopped the payment of cheque

cancelled whereas the demand draft was in the name ... effect that
now neither he would stop the payment nor he would get the
draft cancelled. It was alleged that again the said draft
cheques deposited subsequently bounced due to the
applicants' instructions to stop the payment, which,
according to Mr. Sahjani, clearly demonstrates the
applicants' intention ... some through demand draft, and some through
cheques. Upon depositing such a cheque, the applicants
instructed the bank to stop the payment of the cheque
presentation before the Bank, the demand draft in
question was dishonoured because of "Stop Payment" instructions
issued to the Bank. The complainant alleges ... only one transaction in which demand draft of Rs.67,500/-
has been dishonoured due to „Stop Payment‟ instructions.
