5. Prohibition of pre-natal diagnostic procedures and techniques for certain purposes.
(1)No person shall use any pre-natal diagnostic procedures or pre-natal diagnostic techniques including ultrasonography for the purpose of indicating the sex of a foetus with or without the possible object of female foeticide.(2)No person shall give advertisement in any manner regarding the facilities or pre-natal prediction of sex available at any genetic clinic, genetic laboratory or genetic counselling centre.(3)No person shall seek to get the pre-natal diagnostic procedures done or pre-natal diagnostic techniques carried out for a purpose other than the purpose specified in sub-section (2) of section 4.
