Section 8(8)(b) in The Railway Servants (Hours Of Work And Period Of Rest) Rules, 2005

(b)in the case of an employment of "continuous" nature, the railway servant whose place of residence is beyond 1.6 kilometres from the place of duty, seven hours of split-duty shall be treated as equivalent to eight hours of normal duty.
