34. Selection Committee for the Teachers and other academic staff of the University.
(1)The teachers and other academic staff of the University shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, on the recommendation of the Selection Committee, and the constitution of the Selection Committee as well as the procedure for holding its meetings shall be in consonance with the Rules framed by the State Government from time to time.(2)The nominee of the Vice-Chancellor shall be the head of the Selection Committee, which shall send its recommendations in writing to the Vice-Chancellor along with reasoned record of assessment of the persons appeared before it for selection.(3)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1). the Executive Council shall hold the powers of punishment to any teachers of the University in prescribed manner.
