252. Safety Officer.
(1)In every establishment wherein five hundred or more building workers are ordinarily employed, the employer shall appoint safety officers as per the scale laid down in Schedule-Vl. Such safety officers may be assisted by suitable and adequate staff.(2)Duties, qualifications and the conditions of service of safety officer appointed under sub-rule (1) shall be as provided in Schedule-VI.(3)wherever number of workers employed by single employer is less than five hundred, such employers may form a group and appoint a common safety officer for such group of employer's with prior permission of Chief Inspector.
