Section 16(1)(c) in Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Rules, 1988

(c)Notwithstanding anything contained in the bye-laws of any such society, the person so elected or nominated shall determine the date, time and place of the meeting. He shall preside over the joint meeting and, in his absence, the members attending the joint meeting may choose a person from among themselves to preside over the joint meeting.
