Section 10 in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964

10. Royal Family

- Whenever any Prince or Princess, being a member of a Royal family shall arrive at, or quit any place in India they shall on a requisition by the Government, receive a 21 gun salute on their first arrival and final departure, from all Indian Naval Ships present or from any battery at such place from which salutes are usually fired. A 21 gun salute shall also be fired whenever any Prince or Princess, being a member of a Royal family, visits an Indian Naval Ship, both on arrival and departure. The flag of the nation of such member will be displayed at the main mast.
(2)In Foreign Ports-Whenever such visits to Indian Naval Ships shall take place in a foreign port, corresponding salutes shall be fired, and the flag of the nation of the distinguished personage hoisted, as already explained.
(3)At Sea-Whenever any of Indian Naval Ships meet, pass or are passed by any vessel wearing the Standard of any member of a Royal family, they shall salute the Standard.
