Section 2 in The Punjab Land Revenue (Abolition) Act, 1997
2. Abolition of land revenue and additional land revenue.
(i)With effect from the Rabi Harvest of agricultural year 1996-97, the land revenue and additional land revenue payable under the provisions of the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (Punjab Act No. XVII of 1887) shall be deemed to have been abolished.(ii)The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything contrary contained in the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (Punjab Act No. XVII of 1887).
