- The Government may, by notification, remove from office the Chairman or any other member-(a)who is, or has become, subject to any of the disqualifications mentioned in section 6;(b)who is absent without the permission of the Board from all the meetings of the Board for three successive ordinary meetings;(c)who has in the opinion of the Government been guilty of any misconduct or neglect of duty or has so abused his position as to render his continuance as member detrimental to the interests of the Board or of the general public, or is otherwise unfit to become a member;(d)who has refused to act or has become incapable of acting:Provided that no member shall be removed from office unless he has been given an opportunity to show cause against his removal.
