Section 16(1) in The Maharashtra Narcotic Drags and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985
(1)Any registered medical practitioner desiring to possess opium for use as an ingredient in any medicine and to sell medicines containing opium on prescription shall make an application to the Collector or authorised officer for a licence in that behalf.
