9.
Engineers who are recruited to posts under the Chief Engineer from other branches of the Public Service under the State Government where the system of examination is not in force or where the subjects for examination are substantially difference shall be required to pass the examinations laid down in Chapters III and IV after joining a post under the Chief Engineer :Provided that, the State Government may in special cases exempt such Engineer from passing such examinations.
