5. Colleges not to be affiliated to any other University and recognition of institutions by the University.
(1)No college within the University area shall be affiliated to any University other than the Bharathiar University:[Provided that this sub-section shall not apply to the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the Nilgiris District.] [Added by Tamil Nadu Act 45 of 1983.](2)No institution affiliated to, or associated with, or maintained by, any other University in the State of Tamil Nadu shall be recognised by the University for any purpose except with the prior approval of the Government and the concerned University.
