Section 1 in Limits of the Port of Tuticorin

1. Zone "A" shall comprise the area falling within the following limits, namely

-on the North:
(a)along the northern edge of the railway siding to Harbour between boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 21 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 24;
(b)along the Western edge of the western flood bank of the Korampallam Surplus Course between the boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 24 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 25;
(c)along the boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 25 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 27;
(d)along the high water marks upto the outer edge of the North Breakwater;
(e)along the outer edge of the North Breakwater to a line drawn on the parallel of latitude 08º45'00" North to a position whence the longitude 78º16'00" East intercepts;
(f)from latitude 08º45'00" North and longitude 78º16'00" East to latitude 08º50'00" North and longitude 78º17'00" East;
(g)from latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º17'00" E to latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E;
on the East:from latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E to latitude 08º36'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E;on the South:
(a)To the West from latitude 08º36'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E and to latitude 08º36'00" N and longitude 78º15'00" E;
(b)From latitude 08º36'00" N and longitude 78º15'00" E to latitude 08º39'30" N and longitude 78º15'00" E;
(c)From latitude 08º39'30" N and longitude 78º15'00" E to where it meets the point 45.72 m from the high water level on the shore;
on the West :
(a)45.72 m on the shore from high water mark upto the southern acquisition boundary pillar Tuticorin Harbour Project 1 of Tuticorin Harbour Estate;
(b)to the southern acquisition boundary between boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 1 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 6;
(c)along the western acquisition boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 6 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 21;
II. Zone "B" shall comprise the area falling within the following limits, namely :-on the North:from east the boundary pillar erected to the north of Arasadi along the parallel of latitude 08º50'00" N to latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º17'00" E;on the East:from latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º17'00" E to latitude 08º45'00" N and longitude 78º16'00" E;on the South:
(a)along the northern edge of the railway siding to Harbour between boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 21 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 24;
(b)to the western edge of the western flood bank of the Korampallam Surplus Course between the boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 24 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 25;
(c)along the boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 25 to Tuticorin Harbour Project 27;
(d)along the high water marks upto the outer edge of the North Break water;
(e)along the outer edge of the North Breakwater to a line drawn on the parallel of latitude 08º45'00" N to longitude 78º16'00" E intercepts;
on the West:
(a)North along the boundary pillars Tuticorin Harbour Project 21 to Tuticorin Port Trust 1;
(b)along the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 1 to Tuticorin Port Trust 9;
(c)along the edge of the southern bank of the Upparodai Backwaters through the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 9 to Tuticorin Port Trust 10;
(d)along the eastern edge of the Upparodai Backwaters through the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 10 to Tuticorin Port Trust 13;
(e)along the edge of the western bank of the Upparodai Backwaters through the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 13 to Tuticorin Port Trust 19;
(f)along the edge of the northern bank of the Upparodai Backwaters through the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 19 to Tuticorin Port Trust 25;
(g)along the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 25 to Tuticorin Port Trust 30;
(h)along the banks of the Upparodai Backwaters through the pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 30 to Tuticorin Port Trust 32;
(i)along the northern edge of the Upparodai Backwaters through the pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 32 to Tuticorin Port Trust 35;
(j)along the line joining the boundary pillars Tuticorin Port Trust 35 to Tuticorin Port Trust 37;
(k)to so much of sea shore between the boundary pillar Tuticorin Port Trust 37 and the northern boundary of the said Zone-B Port as lies with in 45.72 metres of the high water marks ordinary spring tides;
(l)along the eastern edge of the Zone-B Premises upto the northern end of the said Premises;
(m)to so much of the sea shore between northern boundary of the Zone-B and the boundary pillar erected to the North of Arasadi as lies within 45.72 metres of high-water-marks ordinary spring tides, excluding the Tuticorin Sub-Collector's Bungalow,
III. Sethusamudram Ship ChannelShall comprise the area falling within the following limits, namely :-The Sethusamudram Ship Channel area covering one Kilometer width on the either side of the center line (alignment) of the channel for its entire length :-
(a)from the mid position i.e.
latitude 08º43'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E,latitude 08º50'00" N and longitude 78º22'00" E andlatitude 08º36'00" N and latitude 78º22'00" E and then connecting the points such as:-i) latitude 09º02'42.23" N and longitude 79º29'05.66" E;ii) latitude 09º05'02.20" N and longitude 79º29'31.46" E;iii) latitude 09º14'25.40" N and longitude 79º29'29.06" E;iv) latitude 09º21'28.89" N and longitude 79º27'46.41" E;v) latitude 09º40'28.51" N and longitude 79º20'31.10" E;vi) latitude 09º58'11.75" N and longitude 79º33'36.12" E;vii) latitude 10º06'40.00" N and longitude 80º02'03.00" E;and the dumping area at Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mannar ;
(b)i) latitude 10º13'14.05" N and longitude 80º13'11.56" E;
ii) latitude 08º55'51.16" N and longitude 79º26'54.81" E;iii) dumping area with the path from Sethusamudram Ship Channel in Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mannar off the coast of Nagapattinam and Ramanathapuram Districts, in the East, known by the names specified in column (1) of the table below and within the limits specified in the corresponding entries in column (2) to (5) thereof and the area limited within the boundaries formed by the latitude and longitude indicated to the points marked in the following table-1 :Table-1

c) the Vessel Traffic Management System :-Channel Control Towers in off Tondi and off Manamelkudi off the coast of Remanathapuram and Puthukkottai Districts, in the East, known by the names specified in column (1) of the table below and within the limits specified in the corresponding entries in column (2) to (5) thereof and the area limited within the boundaries formed by the latitude and longitude indicated to the points marked in the following Table-2 :Table-2
