Section 8 in Model Rules, 2011 under Bengal Ferries Act, 1885
8. Application for Licensing Boats.
(1)Every application for a fresh license or renewal shall be made in writing to the boat Surveyor with a copy to Registration Officer;(2)The Surveyor shall submit the survey report to the Registration officer within a period of 30days from the date of receipt of application.(3)The applicant shall produce the boat at such time and place as the Boat Surveyor shall direct for the purpose of licensing the boat , preferably at the place of plying.
