S.O. 2318, dated 6th July, 1967. - In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (3) of Section 214 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) and in supersession of all previous orders on the subject, the Central Government hereby directs that in the states or Union territories specified in the first column of the schedule hereto annexed, the officers specified in the corresponding entry in the second column thereof shall be the officers to whom certified copies of the returns in respect of births and deaths of citizens of India on board Indian ships shall be transmitted for preservation as a permanent record.The Schedule| SI.
