Section 22(1) in First Statutes of the University of Udaipur
(1)No member shall be eligible to be elected to the Academic Council unless he is a permanent teacher of any College/Campus/School of the University and has eight years' teaching and/or research, extension experience and is not below the rank of a [Lecturer] [Replaced by Resolution dated 27-10-64 and approved by the Chancellor dated 18-11-64.]. At least one of these members to be elected under these provisions shall be the Head of a Department.
