Section 1 in Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Act, 2008
1. Short title, extent, application and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Act, 2008.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu.(3)It applies to(a)Every college deemed to be affiliated to the University under this Act;(b)Every other college or institute situated within the University area which may be affiliated to the University in accordance with the provisions of this Act, Statutes or Ordinances; and(c)Every college which conducts any course of study or imparts any training which may qualify for the award of any degree in teachers education.(4)This Act shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act.
