Section 14 in Sikkim Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1983
14.
The period of work of an employee in a shop or commercial establishment each day shall be so fixed that no period of continuous work shall exceed five hours and that no employee shall be required or allowed to work for more than five hours before he has had an interval for rest of at least one hour:Provided that(a)in the case of employee in a commercial establishment engaged in any manufacturing process, interval for rest shall be at least half an hour; and(b)in the case of any other employee the State Government may, on an application made in that behalf by the employees concerned, permit the reduction of the interval for rest to half an hour.
