Section 28 in The Indian Postal Service (Group 'A') Rules, 1987

28. Repeal and saving.

(1)on and from the date of commencement of these rules, the Indian Postal Service, Class-I (Junior and Senior Time Scales) Recruitment Rules, 1959 and the Indian Postal Services Class-I (Directors of Postal Services) Recruitment Rules, 1959 in so for as they relate to the posts to which these rules apply, are hereby repealed.
(2)Not-withstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the rules so repealed, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of these rules.[Schedule-I] [Substituted by Notification No. G.S.R. 761(E), dated 8.11.1999](See Rule 3(2))Authorized Strength of the Service.
