19. Officers and persons exercising powers under this Act to be public servants.
(1)All Officers appointed under this Act and every person authorised to exercise any powers conferred or to perform any duties imposed on him by or under this Act shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act XLV of 1860).(2)No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against the Government or any officer thereof for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of any powers conferred under this Act or any rules made thereunder.
