17. The Dean of Faculty.
(1)There shall be a Dean of each Faculty who shall be appointed by the vice-chancellor for a period of three years in such manner as may be prescribed by the Statutes.(2)The Dean shall convene meetings of the faculty, as and when required, in consultation with the vice-chancellor and shall preside over the same. He shall formulate the policies and development programme of the faculty and present the same to the appropriate authorities for their consideration.(3)The Dean of Faculty shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Statutes.
