7. Appointment on Tenure Basis.
- The appointment on tenure basis to any post in this service shall not ordinarily be for more than three years at a time. Extension for a further period of two years shall be decided by the Government where such extension is considered necessary in public Interest:Provided that nothing in these rules shall preclude the Government or Inspector General of Police, Special Protection Force as the case may be, to repatriate the officers taken on tenure basis to their respective parent departments even before expiry of the tenure period without assigning any reasons.
