1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.(3)It shall come into force on such [date] [26th day of January 1962, vide G.N.R.D., No. ICH. 1062-M (spl.) dated 16th January, 1962.] as the State Government may, be notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
