Section 26(2) in The North Bengal University Act, 1981
(2)[ The Dean shall be elected by the members of the Faculty Council and shall act as Vice-Chairman of the Faculty Council.] [[Sub-section (2) first substituted by W.B. Act 8 of 1993, then again substituted by W.B. Act 9 of 1996. Previous Sub-section (2) was as under:-'(2) The Dean shall be elected,-(a)in the case of the Faculty Council for post-graduate studies in Arts, Commerce and Law. by the members of the Faculty Council, and(b)in the case of the Faculty Council for post-graduate studies in Science and the Faculty Council for post-graduate Studies in Medicine, by the members of the Faculty Councils, and shall act as Vice-Chairman of the Faculty Council or Faculty Councils, as the case may be.'.]]
